Project Context & Rationale

This research is titled “AI Based Detection of Trading Addiction”. The study addresses the challenge of Internet Addiction and its manifestation in online trading, which can lead to a gambling disorder with impulsivity, emotional dysregulation, and financial loss. Given the 83% treatment gap in mental health in India, this PhD research aims to leverage AI as a scalable solution.

The study uses the Trading Disorder Scale (TDS) questionnaire to collect self-reported behavioral data to develop an AI model capable of predicting Trading addiction. Domain expertise is leveraged from the National Institute of Mental Health & NeuroSciences (NIMHANS), Bangalore.

Emails are encrypted and stored only for confirming consent. Data is de-identified before analysis. (Retention: 4 years, then securely deleted).
